About Quartz Jeans

QuartzJeans is a project based in a private studio in Japan, where everything is done by one person.

Japan has a rich manufacturing environment.
From selvedge denim woven on vintage shuttle looms to sewing machines and threads, there is a strong foundation of craftsmanship.
At the same time, much of it stays within Japan.

QuartzJeans seeks to reposition Japanese craftsmanship within a broader context.

It also sits slightly apart from the scale of modern fashion production.
There often feels to be a distance between what is made and how it is made.

Here, everything is done by one person — from choosing fabric and thread to pattern making, sewing, branding, and selling.
All processes are completed within Japan.

This way of working is slow and does not allow for large-scale production.
But it allows each piece to be made with care.

QuartzJeans is not built on volume.
It is built on honesty.
